Rotarians understand the importance of our community’s youth. Guided by this understanding, our club has a long-standing recognition program for students attending high schools in our area.  The program recognizes achievement, leadership, and helps to support high school students in their transition to higher education.  This Rotary Year, our club is pleased to award $500, with agreement from local colleges to double that amount.

During the months of September through May, high school students are selected by their school’s administration at Bishop High School, HM King High School, Pan American, Kaufer High School, and Santa Gertrudis Academy High School based upon their:  Academic Standing, Extra-Curricular Activities, Community Involvement, Leadership and Service to Others.

Specifically:

  • Shows special effort and/or talent in academic achievements
  • Demonstrates self-discipline, positive team/group concept, contributions in extracurricular activities
  • Respects and abides by school rules/policies
  • Models good citizenship through a positive attitude
  • Handles success and defeat with maturity

If you know of a student that would meet this criteria have them contact their school counselor.  For more information feel free to Contact Us.
