Rotary Kingsville was honored to have Oleksandr Zhalkovskyi share his story of his recent trip back to Ukraine.
Alex, as we call him, is a student at Texas A&M University—Kingsville. At our February 7th meeting, he told us of his harrowing journey back to the country of his youth to collect his mother and bring her safely to the United States. Our members took up an impromptu collection after seeing his pictures and video — raising $207. Alex will send all funds collected to his friends on the front lines, most of whom are responsible for much of their own gear.
