By supporting the 2024 RPM Motorcycle ride, your donation will be double matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, turning each dollar donated into three!

You can also follow them on the ride by liking their Facebook page and support them along the 800 mile South Texas route throughout the Rotary District 5930.

The goal of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative is to complete the eradication and containment of all wild, vaccine-related and Sabin polioviruses, such that no child ever again suffers paralytic poliomyelitis.

Launched in 1988 after the World Health Assembly passed a resolution to eradicate polio, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, along with its partners, has helped countries to make huge progress in protecting the global population from this debilitating disease. As a result, global incidence of polio has decreased by 99.9% since GPEI’s foundation. An estimated 16 million people today are walking who would otherwise have been paralysed by the disease, and more than 1.5 million people are alive, whose lives would otherwise have been lost. Now the task remains to tackle polio in its last few strongholds and get rid of the final 0.1% of polio cases.

As World Polio Day approaches, we need your help to amplify our message about eradicating polio to protect the world’s children from a devastating disease.

We have made tremendous progress since the Global Polio Eradication Initiative was launched:

• A 99.9% reduction in cases of illness caused by wild poliovirus
• 3 billion children immunized
• 125 countries where polio was endemic reduced to two — Afghanistan and Pakistan — with the virus contained in just a few districts and provinces

But even just one case still represents one child’s life forever changed by polio. That’s why Rotary members must remain tenacious and keep our promise: We won’t stop until we know that no child will ever again experience the paralyzing effects of polio.

Let’s use World Polio Day to advocate for the support we need to make history by eradicating polio. Together, we end polio!

The Texas A&M University—Kingsville College of Business Administration will host its annual Economic Forum.  This year's speaker will be Brian Picard, Sales Operations Specialist with Dell Technologies.  He will be discussing leveraging AI for Business and Personal Use, with a focus on recent graduates and small businesses

Thomas Krueger is the J.R. Manning Endowed Professor of Innovation in Business Education and Chair of the Accounting and Finance Department at Texas A&M—Kingsville.  He will discuss this year's annual Economic Forum and delve into how it affects Texans, Kingsvillians, and Rotarians.

Brush Country Court-appointed Special Advocates' mission is to provide trained and qualified community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children who are before the court as a result of abuse or neglect as defined by the state Child Welfare Laws. Brush Country CASA’s goal is to place these children in safe, nurturing environments as quickly as possible.

Texas A&M University—Kingsville offers a nationally accredited Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program designed to enhance the leadership skills and management competencies of public and nonprofit managers. This comprehensive program aims to improve the performance of administrators and the organizational effectiveness of public and nonprofit sectors.

Program Director Jeffrey R. West is the Chief Workforce Developement Officer.  He will be on hand today to explain the certification process and curriculum.

Susan Ivy is a Rotarian and oversees several of our youth programs.  She will be on hand today to tell us about upcoming events.

Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Turnblom is Professor of Military Science at Texas A&M—Kingsville. He was born in Ogden, Utah, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2002 as a 14J Air Defense C4I Operator/Maintainer.  Earning his commission in 2007 upon graduation from Weber State University, he continued to serve with distinction in many capacities and campaigns.  We are excited to have him speak about his career and work at our university.

James Plank is Assistant Professor of Practice for Criminal Justice at Texas A&M Univeristy—Kingsville.  He will tell us about the program as well as observations in Professing, Probation, Parole, and 12 years on Patrol.

Jason Gonzales is the longest current tenured coach for Texas A&M-Kingsville after being hired in 2008 as the third head baseball coach in program history.  He will come to speak to us today about the university's baseball program.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a Rotary International leadership training program for youth.  It's a multi-level, 3-day annual leadership camp for high-school ages held and organized and hosted by the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi for the Rotary Clubs here in the South Texas District 5930.  Kingsville Rotary is proud to continue to sponsor our local students to attend this life-changing, educational experience.

Trey Fournier is the Director of Projects overseeing Direct Air Capture (DAC) development at 1PointFive, a subsidiary of Occidental. In this role, he manages the company’s work to deploy commercial-scale DAC facilities that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Trey has over a decade of experience working with Occidental and has spent much of his career in various roles of increasing responsibility across engineering, planning, and commercial development of large-scale energy projects.
